Who are Sam Farmer
Sam Farmer is an established UK based company that has been running for 10 years. The company creates personal care products for young adults and teens, and has had their products stocked in big brand high street stores, like Boots. As a producer of personal care products, they pay special attention to the latest cosmetic science updates, and are members of the CTPA (Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Society).
The Problem with their previous eCommerce platform
One of the biggest problems with Drupal is that it can be difficult to use. Drupal is designed for developers and website builders who are familiar with code. As a result, businesses that do not have access to skilled developers may find it difficult to create and manage a Drupal website.
Sam Farmer found that they were being inundated with unnecessary additional admin tasks to keep on top of the running of the website. The Solution came in the form of a store migration from Drupal to Shopify. We built a new beautiful Shopify eCommerce storefront using the Broadcast theme as a starting point. The new Sam Farmer store required the following different functionalities to be added:
- Fulfilment process with Carrier Direct Marketing
- Migration of existing product range including rich content such as ingredients / 3D animations
- Direct integration with Xero to simplify the accounting setup
- Additional security with a third party backup solution added via Rewind Backups
The end result was a well rounded, streamlined eCommerce solution which is ideal not just for their customers, but for them as merchants, as well.
The site launched with a conversion rate of 7% and strong page speed scores with the homepage taking less than 1 second to be fully visible & interactive.
